Overview

The Obstetrics and Gynecological (OBG) Nursing department is the heart of maternal and reproductive healthcare within a clinical or academic setting. It focuses on the holistic care of women throughout their lifespan, with a specialized emphasis on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum period, infertility and the disorders of female reproductive system.

The OBG department views childbirth not merely as a medical procedure, but as a significant life event that requires a balance of high-tech monitoring and "high-touch" human compassion. This department equip the students to focus on the core areas such as antenatal care, intra natal care, postnatal care, infertility, gynecology and family welfare.

Our vision is to empower future nurses to safeguard the health of mother and newborns and uphold the dignity of womenhood at every stage of life.

 Objectives

  1. To develop competent nurses in antenatal, intranatal and postnatal care.
  2. To train students to conduct safe deliveries and manage obstetric emergencies.
  3. To provide expertise in Newborn care and neonatal resuscitation.
  4. To impart knowledge in Gynecological nursing and family welfare services.
  5. To promote evidence based midwifery practice with compassion and ethics.
  6. To ensure quality clinical learning in Obstetrical setting.
